The benchmarked smartphone above was reported 99.99% to be the LG G3, and it shows that the device will be running on Adreno 330 GPU side-by-side a Qualcomm processor so it’s just logical to assume it will be a Snapdragon 801. Thermoelectric Generators, the technology used by KAIST researchers on their prototype, has been around since ages. However, in the touchscreen-dominated-world we live in, on-screen buttons just doesn’t offer the same level of gusto as thumbing on a set of physical buttons. This is where the G-Pad comes in; a small silicon sleeve that fits nicely into an iPhone 5/5S, iPhone 5C, iPod Touch 5th Gen and iPad Mini. No fancy features, no extra batteries, just a set of buttons that lays on top of the screen which kicks the Gameboy experience up a notch. The G-Pad…

Best. Fried. Chicken. As usual, I dragged my mom all the way to Shangri-La Mall so I could try Kettle. I got no complaints from her as she often finds an excuse to go there, craving a little change of scenery from the usual ATC or Glorietta. We managed to be there pretty early so getting a table was not a problem, but I did made reservations just in case. Like Green Pastures and some other restaurants in the East Wing, tables were set up on either side of the resto for that faux al fresco feel.Pork and Potato Strips (P339)We started with the Pork and Potato Strips, and I was really surprised…

Follow the purple silk road...If you're hankering for some Thai food, Silk Road is probably one of the best restaurants to visit to satiate those cravings. This modern bistro is a brain child of Chef Cecille Chang, and aims to give you a contemporary Thai experience in a setting far removed from the streets of Bangkok. They have wines, cocktails, and other liquor, backed up by the bottles seen behind the bar. But when in a Thai place, I usually go for their Thai Milk Tea, the sweet blend very fitting for their spicy profferings, as the milk gently tempers each kick.Soft Shell Crab Roll…

Running a couple of errands in the mall got me famished, and this time I chose to while away my time at Figaro Coffee.Pork Longganisa is my dish of choice the few times I'm there. That or their Tuna and Cheese Sandwich, depending on my mood and the size of my appetite. Sweet, with a lot of fat, this trio of sebaceous porcine meat sits teasingly beside a fried egg with a bright yellow yolk. I shouldn't be eating this, I thought, but then again, what the…

Favorites, old and new...Cibo is really one of my favorite restaurants, and though I'm happy that they have some new dishes on the menu, I still can't help but stick to old favorites at times. Two staples are the Spinachi Zola (spinach dip), which poses a challenge during every visit, since I'm torn between throwing in more spinach-laden crostini inside my mouth, or stopping at some point lest I find myself full for my main dish/es; and the other is Limone Te Freddo (lemon iced tea)---sweet, refreshing, and riddled with mint leaves---one of the best in the metro. The mains usually depend on my…

For when you're hankering for some panizza this side of the metro...I've been meaning to try Mona Lisa for a long time now, and when the opportunity presented itself (we were just whiling away the time in Alabang before I had to pick up my daughter), my mom and I half-dragged my dad to an Italian lunch. The place was pretty much deserted save for a couple of tables, one occupied by ladies who lunch, and the other by a group of corporate guys. It was bright, with the sunshine streaming in through the picture windows. The formality that comes with the goblets and folded linen napkins didn't bode…
